She lay in the middle of the bed, one arm locked around Asher's pillow and the other crushing Ilya's against her chest because their smell was the only thing left to her. The sheets were cold now, the warmth they left behind long gone, just like every promise she ever made to them. Tears slid from her eyes, slow and constant, because her body had nothing else to give.
Her chest hurt so bad she kept checking if she was having a heart attack. She deserved one. She deserved even worse, because she had taken two men who would have killed and died for her and turned them into strangers overnight because some pathetic part of her missed being reckless.
She took the love they poured into her every single day and pissed all over it because she was too much of a coward to just tell them she feared how much she needed them. Scared that one day they would wake up and see she was just a fucked-up girl who got lucky twice and decide she was not worth the trouble anymore. So she secretly went to that masked party without them, let strangers kiss her while their hands up her dress, all because she wanted to prove she could still breathe without Ash and Ilya owning every part of her, and now those strangers' fingerprints were the last ones on her body instead of the men she actually loved.
She was the dumbest bitch alive. She ruined the only people who ever made her feel safe and now the bed felt like a coffin, and she deserved to rot in it.
