6 steps to (not) be mysterious

Step 1: Sit alone in a café, staring dramatically out the window while sipping tea like you’re the protagonist of an indie film. Bonus points if it’s raining.

Step 2: Have a notebook. Keep it close, like it holds the meaning of life (or just half-written song lyrics and a grocery list you’ll forget anyway).

Step 3: When a stranger sits at your table and asks about said notebook, respond with something cryptic. Maybe joke about a kill list. Watch as they try to figure out if you’re serious.

Step 4: Hum a melody under your breath. Pretend not to notice when they stop talking to listen.

Step 5: Get caught in a conversation you didn’t plan to have. Answer questions you weren’t expecting. Realize that maybe, just maybe, being noticed isn’t as terrifying as you thought.

Step 6: Write about it later. Pretend it didn’t matter. Wonder why it totally did.
