The dripping of water somewhere made Lucas complain in his sleep, that sound becoming louder. He felt a pain in the back of his eyes when he tried to open them, so he gave up right away. He tried to move his arms, but they were tied to something, he still couldn't say what. The cold of the floor beneath him was damp.

He tried to remember what had happened. He remembered meeting Yvan, being worried about him, making him promise something..

He opened his eyes with effort, there was a weak light from a single bulb hanging from the ceiling, which flickered from time to time. The smell of mold and metal soon made him try to move, without much success. He had no idea where he was, but he knew it wasn't safe. The place looked like a basement, maybe the basement of some abandoned warehouse that no one visited.

He could now feel the stiffness of the rope around his wrists, the tingling in his legs telling him that maybe he had been there in that position for a long time. Maybe a whole day. He took a deep breath, trying not to give in to panic, which he easily did. The pain was real, but the fear he felt needed to be postponed.

He had a habit of observing. He had always known how to observe the situations, perhaps it was a bitter legacy of growing up in his father's family. He was alive, which meant someone needed him to be like this. So, was this a kidnapping?
