The rhythm that the heart wants

They shared stolen moments - the taste of rain on their lips, the warmth of tangled limbs beneath woolen blankets. Filippo memorized the curve of her collarbone, the way her breath hitched when he whispered, "Amo-te" Inês traced the lines of his face, committing them to memory - the crinkle at the corner of his eyes, the roughness of his jaw.

They danced through crowded squares, their steps syncopated, hearts beating in rhythm. Filippo spun her, and the world blurred into a kaleidoscope of colors - cobalt skies, terracotta rooftops, and the fiery passion that consumed them both.
