drably skies felt superior to anything else; a canvas of ash and damp, obscuring grasps of sight. along narrow paths her steps were softened by moss and whispers of leaves brushing against cracked, bedewed stone. in her arms were lilies, (mostly) tulips, and hellebore. they spoke in color where her voice was purposefully set aside, for the sake of welcomed silence among the forgotten and unforgotten.
