Your First Words...

My sweet baby boy... What a great opportunity to collect memories for you to go back and remember our good times by. Let this be the first of many..

I always imagined the moment I’d hear your first word, but I never thought it would happen in the middle of our first World Tour. After weeks of rushing from city to city—backstage chaos, sound checks, blinding lights—it had become hard to catch a single breath. We’d been on the road for so long that I was almost certain your first word would be the name of an instrument or something about the stage. After all, most of your little life had been spent surrounded by rhythms, cables, and rehearsals.


But Alec, as always, you managed to surprise me in the most beautiful way. Even at this age, you've been my biggest supporter, you've always been with me and with that tiny heart of yours you prepared the sweetest gift for me.

When the concert ended and I stepped off stage to scoop you into my arms, you looked at me and said “Mama...” It felt like my ears heard it first, but my heart understood it instantly. In that moment, every bit of exhaustion and sleeplessness simply melted away.


It was a second I’ll never forget. Even the applause of thousands couldn’t compete with that single word. Your first word became the most precious gift hidden within the chaos of tour life—the most wonderful surprise of my life.
