Special Lyrics

thus the monster began to recount the fourth tale
and for some strange reason it was thought to be true
maybe the beast’s calm manner or how the trio grew pale
convinced the townfolk to give trust where it was due

”I have no interest in the domain of men”
the monster grandly proclaimed
”but these three came uninvited into my den
drew their weapons and aimed”

“as I gather, the three were all working together
while I was forced to oppose them alone
but they attacked someone greater than nature or weather
and were left with only a rotten bone”

“they discussed their plans, paying no heed to me
no doubt not realising I speak the language of men
I was still hoping they would just let me be
but it was becoming clear peace was at its end”

“they hoped to slay me and gather the glory
all having different reasons to clear the air
it would surely have made for a nice story
but it certainly wouldn’t have been fair”

“they gathered their strength and they all came at me
wielding their weapons, their swords
but one of me easily beats humans three
soon they were praying for higher lords”

“the battle was over before it had begun
the fools wishing having not come up with the scheme
I had no desire to kill so I just watched them run
towards the town centre fast as a light beam”

“but later I realised they might distort the truth
and make me the monster of this tale
I had to be as fast as I was in my youth
to make it here and this circus derail”

“so now I am here and this I proclaim
each of the trio has only lied
they all worked in tandem looking for fame
and the fortune that would come on the side”

“but seems they have become greedy
not content with one third of it all
all you humans seem to be alarmingly needy
your needs and greed lining you up for your fall”

“all worked together to kill an innocent
failed and decided to take the credit anyway
stabbed each other in the back in the end
and now face the truth in the words I say”

“now I’ve told you everything that I know
and care not what you shall do with it
please let me live in peace, away I shall go
and hopefully I can be alone for a bit”

thus the monster left, leaving the town behind
and the silence was quite unbearable
but the judge still retained the capacities of his mind
and started rebuilding the metaphorical rubble

the monster was never seen after these events
it had found its peace and held it dear
but the culprits still awaited their penance
and their hearts raced as they waited in fear
