Special Lyrics
My first time producing theatre with help of the co.
Could have gone much differently though.
Wonder how different it would have been
If we stayed in the space we should have been in.
The play went well and I loved my acting role
But it didn't feel like my project on the business end, oh my soul.
The show did not go on in a hurricane.
We all would have lost money anyway.
Part of it feels as though it wasn't really mine.
With the space, the programs, the way he would wine.
Changing the theatre,
Taking and promising the cast money,
The programs,
Not taking instructions when given,
Not consulting me,
His deceiving me,
He overstepped himself and then insulted me.
It was none of his business.
He ruined it. He may have made the set better.
How would it have been otherwise?
I wonder how it would have been with someone else.
Perhaps not as well directed, perhaps not well-lit, but no drama.
I made a bad choice with him.
Still glad I did the special project. If I get another SP I might direct it myself.
It was not his business.
It was my special project.
