City lights
Some of the cracks had finally started to heal, turning into scars that he'd wear proudly as proof that he had lived while the deeper ones remained, only to be mended if the unique piece which was chipped off them ever slid back into place.
The storm in his mind slowly dispersed as rays of sunshine and neon lights pierced it's clouds when he took to the city as he once did when he fled the troubles of a broken home at a young age, the muffled beat of a deep bass acting as the city's pulse as the crowd and traffic flowed through it's veins.
He let the chaotic vibrancy and energy of the city flood him and infuse him with a sense of purpose and comfort as entropy plucked at the strings of the proverbial harp, with weed and booze being the lesser evils chosen as it's catalysts.
It was as if he had landed in a familiar place that he had never seen before, a sense of excitement for exploring a brave new world mixed with the nostalgia and longing for one that was no more. Things where the same but different, the same scenes lit by a different light offering a new perspective. And so he took to the city to let it's lights do the same to him.
