Once upon a time, this would have been her scene. She would have been smack dab in the middle of all of it. And loving every minute of it. However, now... Not so much.
While she didn't partake, she did mingle. She met the beautiful young woman that had invited her to drop by. And several others.
And then, she saw him across the room and gave him a melancholy smile. So much love, so much lost. He winked. Same old Ax... She chuckled softly as realization slowly crept across her thoughts.
There was nothing there. No twinge, no butterflies, no anger, no pain. Not even a flicker of attraction.
She smiled again, dipped her head in a goodbye and made her way toward the door.
