WMU - Soundtrack to my week

I was asked to share what my week has sounded like. To be honest, it’s been a single track on a loop.

There is a specific ritual to the week before a release. Most of us go through it: playing the final master over and over, dissecting the mix, checking if the structure holds up. It’s usually a technical process, a final inspection before the product leaves for the factory.

With my upcoming single, Backseat Memories, the loop has been the same, but the reason is different. This time, I’m not just checking for quality.

For a long time, I’ve been guilty of driving while staring in the rearview mirror, holding onto old narratives and dissecting "what-ifs." This song is the closing point of that habit. It marks the moment I finally stopped mulling over things that cannot be changed.

This week, Backseat Memories has been my anthem not because I'm analyzing it, but because it sounds like a much-needed closure. It represents the freedom of finally letting go of that dead weight, so I can keep my eyes on the road ahead.
