There are nights when the world goes quiet just long enough for the truth to slip through the cracks. Obsession was one of those truths.

I tried pretending it was just another draft, another unfinished pulse buried somewhere in the studio. But the damn thing kept breathing on its own. Pull tight, no fight it echoed in my skull like it already owned the space. Songs like that don’t wait for permission. They demand a throne.

I didn’t even have a title. I kept circling around ideas, tearing them apart. Turns out the song had already named itself long before I caught up.

And here’s the ridiculous part: while all this chaos is happening in my head, I’m just… waiting for a bowl of instant noodles. Shirt off, headphones on, empire burning in one corner, boiling water in the other. That’s my life in one frame the King and the most ordinary hunger, sitting side by side like it’s the most natural thing in the world.

But make no mistake. The track is alive now. It cuts clean, breathes deep and drags its nails down the spine of every beat.

Obsession.
The name fits like a chain around the throat of the song.

And when it’s finally out, you’ll understand why it never needed my permission to exist.
