Kurt didn't cough, he didn't show anything. His body remained firm, even if a little thinner than before. The aggressiveness came first, his commands were harsher, his prolonged silences made everyone uncomfortable, and the slightest mistake from a subordinate he would respond with a death stare.
Then, came the actions, he knocked a man to the ground for interrupting him twice, and had to be removed from the table when he lost his temper with a gang that dared to question his price. He became more efficient, more dangerous like before, regaining what his brother was almost losing in that short time back to Tokyo.
He began spending his nights in his apartment, which he used only as a hideout. The hard mattress, the empty kitchen, the single window staring to a narrow alley. That view became his only one for three days when the pain and nausea became unbearable.
Sometimes he would place his hand on the exact spot on his head where the tumor lay silently. No one noticed that he was moving away. No one realized that his anger was just a 'I don't want to die yet' issue.
He was dying a little faster than
normal now.
