Of course I wish you a happy birthday, but I just can not imagine that signed divorce papers are the kind of present that make for a happy birthday. I'll be honest, it's been so long since the last time I properly celebrated your birthday, that I did not realise the divorce would fall onto your birthday like this. I only focused on not divorcing you on our 15th wedding anniversary. That seemed somehow extra cruel... Anway you probably don't care about this- but you're in a coma, so haha. I'm just going to to tell you what makes today so weird/special?- and there's nothing you can do about it:
You turned 32 today. Kiana, who shares your birthday, turned 23 today. Notice something? As a very wise man once said "32 is just 23 reversed..." The same wise man taught me that some people call coincidences like this "destiny".
I had to check the calendar, because it felt like too big of a stretch, but no. It's true. You and I met exactly 20 years ago, on this exact day and actually pretty much at the exact time the divorce papers got signed today. If that isn't the biggest sign of the universe, reassuring me once again that Teddy is my guy, then I don't know what destiny is. I am beginning to realise, I should have called our song "(S)He calls it Destiny"...
But speaking of Teddy, he makes me really, really happy Luke. So you don't need to worry about me.
Wherever your path leads from here -whether back to this world or somewhere I can’t follow- I want you to know: You'll always be in my heart- in our hearts, Vivian's and mine.
