a beautiful moment in toronto
The cold air of Toronto blended with an excitement I hadn’t felt in a long time. As I walked under the streetlights, my heart fluttered in my chest like a bird.
When I stepped through the café door, the way he noticed me for the first time is still vivid in my mind. He stood up with a soft smile, opened his arms, and in that moment, all the distance between us vanished. I couldn’t say anything—I just hugged him. All that feeling of absence disappeared right then and there.
When we sat down at the table by the window, there was a quietness between us. I didn’t know where to start. The distance between us wasn’t just about cities; it was the result of time and misunderstandings as well. After ordering our coffees, we started talking. As we spoke about our past, our voices sometimes rose, and at other times we sank into silence. But above all, we were honest. Feeling that honesty brought a sense of relief within me. Putting all the pain of the past on the table together, working through each one… It showed me how strong the bond between us still was.
After dinner, as we walked under the lights of Toronto, I stopped and looked into his eyes. Seeing the sincerity in them, I couldn’t help but smile. That day, walking together in the cold, I felt a warmth inside me like no other. For the first time in a long while, I truly believed that everything would be okay with him.
