Gun stood under the stage lights in a white lace set barely covering her skin, hips rolling slow while bills rained down and male eyes crawled over her. She loved being the center of their dirty universe for three minutes at a time. Every wolf whistle hit her bloodstream, reminding that these men wanted her right now, while the one who was supposed to own her couldn't be bothered to care about her.

That was why she had come back. For the hit of being seen, finally wanted and devoured with stares. If she could not get it from the one man who promised her forever, she would take it from strangers who would at least look at her like she was still worth staring at.

In her head she kept picturing him instead of these faceless idiots. Her fiancé, who once watched her like she was the only thing on the planet, now barely lifting his eyes when she walked into a room. She thought about the nights she stood in front of him in nothing and got less reaction than she was getting now from a guy in a stained shirt in the front row. And now the ring on her finger felt heavier than the platform heels, a joke she was done laughing at.

She was tired of begging for crumbs from a man who used to starve for her. Tired of coming home looking like other men's desire and and still sleeping next to a back turned cold under the same blankets.
Tired of pretending she didn't want out.
