It was the moment he had realised that it had been right timing to leave the party. Someone had turned up the volume of the music, people had started to talk over each other and someone unknown started to annoy Martina across the table they were sitting at.
She nodded slowly and then blinked twice.
He had understood the assignment—let's go and let's find a better place to just.. be.
Elliot's fingers curled as she took her fiancé's hand, said goodbyes to the newlyweds, patted his dad's back, who was clearly more drunk than during the winter holidays.
As soon as the crowd slowly disappeared behind their back and the music didn't get to their ears that easily again, she asked:
“Elliot.. The villa is right there. Where are we going if not back there?”.
“One minute.” He answered and led the way in another direction.
Italy was incredible, and Elliot was truly captivated by the view Tuscany gave them. Very diverse. The mountains, the hills, the forests, and rivers. From up there, they could almost see the whole province that offered nothing but beauty.
But Martina was more beautiful.
He stopped them by the brick wall, safe from falling down to the depths, and wrapped his arms around his incredible woman.
“You see this? I know it's Italy and tonight it belonges to my sister and her husband, but Spain.. How about making it ours? It's our roots, isn't it? Our home. Our kids. Our ceremony. Making it just ours because we don't need no one else..” He whispered.
He would definitely listen to hours of Martina telling their kids how their daddy gave mommy a whole kingdom for real.
