she'd elected to stay with her parents for a few days. she knew the threat of her exes had finally passed. they didn't seem so intent on revenge anymore, but she felt needy like a child. she wasn't even the youngest of the moon-dragon kids, but that didn't matter. as the only girl, she wanted to be babied even if at the same time, she wanted to be treated as an adult. it was quite confusing and didn't make sense.

the girl knew that the time was coming that she ought to quit lying to her parents about the things she had done and the things that had happened to her. she lightly rubbed her hand over her flat stomach as she curled up on the window seat of her childhood bedroom. she looked out of the window, seeing the fading light of the sun going down.

there were so many things she had kept from her family. so many things needed to come to light, but she never wanted to ruin what she thought was a spotless image that she had. she hoped that her parents didn't already know about the things she had done. maybe her step-mother knew, but violet rarely seemed to keep in touch with even her until recently. she had gone off to do her own thing, chasing independence and wanting to play at being someone she had never been before.

it was all so exhausting.

curling up more, she opened up one of her favorite illegal manga sites and she tapped on the manhwa called a tree without roots. it was sick and twisted, lacking in any of the morals she claimed to have, but it was easier when she escaped from reality. a yandere holding his love interest captive? perfection. a great way to not think about the things that terrified her. if she didn't think about those things, did they still exist?
