I wake before the sun, just to feel
the rise and fall of your breath—
steady, certain, like the promise
you placed in my trembling hands.

You lead, and I follow,
not out of weakness,
but because your love
makes surrender feel like flight.
Like being held midair
by something gentler than gravity.

You speak, and I listen—
not just to your words,
but the weight of them,
the softness beneath the strength,
the way your voice knows
how to quiet the storms in me.

My place is not beneath you,
but beside you—kneeling only
because love brings me to my knees.

And when you look at me—
really look—
I see the man you’ve made of me.
