I'm a Mom
In my mind, I had thought I'd become a Mom in my late 20s or in my early to mid 30s. I'd retire from Music and do the whole "Settling Down thing."
Today though at 21, I officially became a Mom although you could argue I became one the moment I found out I was carrying her.
Whatever I had thought doesn't really matter now. The thing is I want to raise a daughter who will feel one day if she can have everything she wants a great career, a relationship, and be a Mom too if she chooses. Even if I, well, I am going to be figuring out how to balance all these things.
But, my role as a Mom, I know it'll be the most special but most difficult one. One that's scary because I just - I want. I need. Well, I want to be a good Mom whatever that may mean. I hold her and I want to give her everything. And, I don't even know what exactly I mean by that either but I do.
She's so tiny and precious and well, perfect to me anyway. Yes, I know I'm being bias and saying all those sayings but I can't help it. I also can't stop looking at her.
We named our daughter Angela Hope Baklanov. Angela is my middle name and my Aunt Moira's. Hope is my Mom's middle name. We've already taken to calling her "Angie" for short though. And, Baklanov of course is her Dad's last name.
But both her and I are doing well. Just tired. Angie took her sweet time getting out after going to the hospital. Apparently, she decided half way through the process she was far too comfy or something like that and needed a little help getting out of there.
Anyway, I'm a Mom and..... I need a nap.
