Satiety brings farewells
Made of excess. Not the kind that shows off, but the kind that overflows in silence, like water slipping through fingers even when we try to hold it.
She doesn’t know how to love a little. She doesn’t know how to measure what she feels. Maybe she doesn’t even want to.
A multitude of dehydrated souls, thirsty. Company, affection, shelter.
And at the slightest sign of need, she would give everything, open the floodgates of her being and let herself be drunk. Time, body, soul.
But abundance breeds satiety. No one needs that much. Satiety brings farewells.
There was Isola—tired eyes, a quiet voice, pleading for understanding.
And there was Bart—a restless artist, longing to be seen.
Both were sated. Sleepless nights, handwritten letters, exhibitions, poems, dreams new and fulfilled. Seen as no fleeting moment would ever allow.
But they got lost in the excess. And frightened by the deep waters, they ran back to the safety of the shore.
No one is to blame... It’s understandable.
Not everyone can bear the intensity of a love that doesn’t know how to be small, how to be enough.
An ocean no one asked to sail.
