002 | Christmas

The season's upon us, it's that time of year
Brandy and eggnog, there's plenty of cheer
There's lights on the trees and there's wreaths to be hung
There's mischief and mayhem and songs to be sung

With her new mittens and scarf on, Daphne Mustaine left her great grandparents house. She was stuffed with food and her great grandmother had made sure that her bag was filled with candy. She would not go hungry, cold or penniless. She knew that she was spoiled, just as her brothers.

There's bells and there's holly, the kids are gung-ho
True love finds a kiss beneath fresh mistletoe
Some families are messed up while others are fine
If you think yours is crazy, well, you should see mine

She did not feel lonely as she walked down the street, on her way to meet up with a few friends. Not a single soul was out walking at this time, but from all the windows she saw huge families that enjoyed the evening together - well, at least it looked like everyone enjoyed it.

Just a short walk, less than ten minutes, and she was there. Among friends from school. From one warm Christmas to another. Perhaps having all these people in her life was the true and best Christmas gift of them all.
