never feel like it's enough
While chatting with my aunt during our short trip to Scotland, I understood that nothing is worth the price of freedom, and why she avoided life on stage for so long.
In my head, while taking guitar lessons, I thought it would be different... Of course, we're as prepared for the stage as elephants can fly, but...
When you're up there, if you're lucky, after a proper artist has performed and the venue is full, all those souls...
I once read in a book that airplane pilots refer to passengers as souls to grasp what they're dealing with. Well, there I am, staring at the faces of those who had the energy to stay.
We rehearsed for hours, it was dreadful, I don't know a lot of things, but fuck it. I thought I'd throw myself into it with the idea that it would be fun.
In the end? It's like everything in life: a solitary journey. Even when you're with others.
Weirdly, they asked for more... Could be worse, I've seen audiences leave before; I've been among those people.
Decent. They said it was decent. That leaves a bitter taste, but I should have known my expectations were, like everything in my mind: delusional.
The real question is, after years of studying, will I have the courage to face one tour after another and never stop?
Is this the life I want to have? The kind of person I want to be?
Right now, what I need is to play this second gig in London, go back to the beach, have a few drinks, and chat with interesting people.
