Airports, candids, and… toys? 🧸

Recently I’ve finally acquired some (now patented) material I’ve been after for years. Yes, years. Way before Audrey and I joined forces, when it was just me up on those stages and we kept traveling back and forth to see each other. The idea wouldn’t leave me alone. It played in my head at any given time but, even with her agreeing to it, actually getting it done proved to be more difficult than we thought it would be.

In the end, like most things, we got it on a whim. A random day, a dressing room, two phones recording, and the simple agreement to not hold back.

Now, the quick tour we are on means we don’t have a lot of time to work in between flights and shows so, for me, more often than not, means I end up working at airports or during either flights or car rides. In this case, it was at the VIP lounge of some airport. I can’t even remember which one.

What I do remember, though, was getting caught, which says a lot about the observational skills of my multitalented wife. I still have no idea how she knew, but she did. Something in my expression, maybe? I don’t know if I’m annoyed that she noticed, or incredibly proud (*)

The sequence that follows was one candidly captured by her PA, which made me laugh the second she showed it to me.

This one we will call: “Hey, hun?”




And this one will be: “Watcha working on there?”



Needless to say, she knew exactly what I was working on, clearly that face says it all.
