A Day in Amsterdam with Dad

Hey there, it’s me, Haruki! I’m not sure if you’ll get everything, but here’s what I remember from today:

So, we’re in Amsterdam right now! I’m not sure where exactly that is, but Dad says it’s far from home. He’s here for a concert, and he’s so cool up there on stage. I get to watch sometimes, but mostly, I’m busy exploring hotels and finding new ways to keep everyone on their toes.

Today was fun. Leo, my brother, and I tried to see how many times we could run down the hallway before Mom caught us. We almost made it to the elevators! But then she gave us that look, and, well… we behaved (for a little bit).

When we got back to the room, Dad was tired from his rehearsals, but he still laughed when I told him about our hallway adventure. He says Leo and I are "masters of mischief." I think that means we’re really good at keeping things exciting.

Mom and Dad sometimes talk about how many minutes Leo and I can go without causing a mess. We just like exploring! How can you NOT touch everything when it’s all so new? I think they secretly like the chaos (but don’t tell them I know that).

At dinner, we tried some yummy food. I didn’t know what half of it was, but Dad said it’s "Amsterdam cuisine." All I know is that it tasted different but good. Afterward, Dad promised a bedtime story if I brushed my teeth quickly. So I hurried (well, kind of).

Now, I’m here in bed, waiting for him to come and start the story. I’m so sleepy I can barely keep my eyes open, but I don’t want to miss a word. Dad’s stories always have the best characters—brave knights, funny dragons, and magical lands where kids can play all day.

So here I am, eyes heavy but waiting. Dad, if you’re reading this… I’m ready for the story. Make it a good one, okay?
