花美 🌸 Hanami
At a ceremony in London, I was officially given the name Hanami Akamatsu.
Lines came together to make unfamiliar characters.
The little girl, who was comfortably 4 by now, looked at the paper with disinterested eyes. She didn't quite understand what she was looking at yet, but she had quickly grown bored with all the sitting and waiting, and waiting to sit.
Her mother gave her a fond smile before scooping her up into her arms. The girl squealed as her Mama peppered her cheeks with kisses. "You're now Hanami!" She smiled. "Hanami Akamatsu."
Hanami looked up in child-like curiosity. "Hana...mi?" She repeated, as if testing the name out.
Yumi nodded. "Mhm, Hana as in flower," She drew the character. "Mi as in beautiful." She drew the next character: 花美. "Beautiful flower, that's you." She pressed another loving kiss on Hanami's forehead. The girl giggled, giddy with excitement for her newfound name.
