~36~ Red Light Solo
It started quietly, just a hum in my head. I had my headphones on, tuning out the world, when the perfect song came on.
Then, the beat dropped. I started singing. Out loud. Without realizing it. I was fully in the moment—voice strong, arms swaying, heart lost in the rhythm.
And then I stopped. Waiting at the crosswalk, still belting out the chorus.
A grandma next to me stared at me with wide eyes, clearly perplexed, and muttered, "oOKAAAAY..."
The light turned green. We both crossed the street, and as we did, I noticed she was walking faster than me.
Much faster than me...
