Yes, really!

Several years ago, I decided to retire from my musical career and set aside my guitar, recognising that there was much more to life than constant touring.
Taking on new challenges with my love, pushing our boundaries, having quality time together, I'm thoroughly enjoying it. But slowly, that little itch started to return. The itch of touring the world that’s what's in my veins.

I participated in numerous bands across various genres, but there was always one genre that made me hesitate: Country and Western. I often perceived it as somewhat outdated, lacking energy. A line dance? No, thank you!
The prospect of transitioning from complex jazz improvisation to a more traditional but sincere style raised many questions for me.

My sweetheart however, beautifully captured the relationship between jazz and C&W. She also captured the essence, perfectly expressing how well this music truly suits us. She told me C&W speaks of our world: imperfect, loud, full of pulsating laughter. Actually, I already knew and felt this, but she put my feelings into words in a way only she can.

So I took the plunge and joined TeQuila Rising. Shall we go back to the top of the charts? Nah, that's not the point now. Making music, having fun, that's the primary goal now.
I wondered how C&W relates to Latin, the music my sweetheart likes the most. I believe those two genres fit perfectly and complement each other:

🔒 A country guitar wanders south, its twang sound drifting into warmer air
A Latin rhythm rises to greet it, bright, pulsing, alive
They circle each other like old souls reunited
One telling quiet truths, the other answering with fire
Soon their melodies braid together
Steel guitar over sunlit percussion,
Trading soft confessions.
Two genres, one heartbeat.
A border crossed, a new song born 🔑
