Lexie hung up the phone, sighed deeply, and mumbled to herself, “It’s about time.”
Her granddaughter had just called, sharing the news that her marriage had come to an end. Failed love was always painful, sad, devastating, and heavy on the heart. But Lexie knew this pain would pass.
But then her granddaughter texted her again, and this time she was furious. She was mad about how he had treated her, leaving her alone in the jungle and taking their plane. Whether it was intentional or not, it was undeniably rude. Why couldn’t he have checked with his crew? Why didn’t he even bother to leave a message?
She couldn’t stand it when a man lacked basic decency and gentleness. Being rude, inconsiderate, and not knowing how to treat a woman properly was something she absolutely despised.
